Hot Plum Sauce

Homemade is always better, and that is our MANTRA here at Fabby’s Delights for every delicious creation; and the case is no different for the saucy side food.  From Sweet plum sauce for chicken to a cool cucumber combo for lamb, these made from-scratch sauces beat the bottled one’s hands down.  So go ahead, add that special something too all your  finger licking grilled goodness.

Hot Plum Sauce

a sauce with a kick, that goes fantastic with your grilled chicken or grilled wings..

Ingredients
  • 1 16 Oz can of whole unpitted purple plums, undrained
  • 2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 1 TBSP. of frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 TBSP. soy sauce
  • 1 Tsp. grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 Tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tsp. Sesame seeds, Toasted (optional)
Directions
  • Step 1 Drain Plums, reserving nectar, pit plums. In a food processor or blender, combine plums, the reserved nectar, hoisin sauce, orange juice concentrate, soy sauce, ginger, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Cover and process or blend until smooth.
  • Step 2 Transfer mixture to a small saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3 Serve with chicken, pork, or turkey. If desired, sprinkle sauce with toasted sesame seeds.
